I got a phonecall last night, and I missed answering it by about a second. So I borrowed someone’s phone and called them back. And they had no idea who I was, which I can dig, people call wrong numbers, it happens. But they acted like it has never happened before ever. This guy was like “Who the fuck are you and why are you calling me?”.HEY MATE, YOU FUCKEN CALLED ME. IT’S YOUR OWN FAULT. FUCK YA.
Why is there no group in Newcastle that supports the inaction regarding the Layman Street Figs? A group that enjoys the fencing surrounding the street, and wishes for it to stay. And supports the money wasted on ‘researching’ them. That’s my kinda group.
I woke up this morning and found a new note written on my ipod. It was written at 2am. Enjoy. (Going to explain words in italics)

I havent heard of Frank turner and Kevin Devine and i shall have to give them a listen. I do however like Refused, great band. I really got into them with that album. Liberation frequency a favourite of mine off that album. Thanks for the bands man, much appreciated
I will give anything and everything a chance man, so basically whatever you want to throw my way. I'll be happy to listen.
No problem. At the moment I have really been digging Frank Turner, Kevin Devine & Refused Frank & Kevin both do the singer/songwriter thing. Frank Turner is one of my favourite artists. And Refused make this amazing punk/hardcore album called The Shape Of Punk To Come, ball-tearing stuff.
I am stuck between wanting my room as bare as possible and as cluttered as possible. I like the idea of taking everything off my walls, only having one or two things up. It would be nice to have everything organised and in it’s place. But on the other hand I do love the ‘hovel’. I actually enjoy having so much crap in my room. So there is something to grab, and everything is somewhere in my room. If that makes sense. No idea. I have never put any thought into my room.
This is the sound of the aurora on Saturn. Pretty eerie, no?
There is no sound in space. Outside planets and stars, molecules are spread out too thin for sound to propagate. It follows, then, that we can’t really hear sounds planets emit into space. But radio waves—electromagnetic waves with wavelengths longer than infrared light—are, as we know, handy for representing sound. And so it makes sense for us to interpret radio waves, whether originally encoding sound or not, as sound. These are radio waves emitted in conjunction with auroras around Saturn’s poles, similar to the northern and southern lights on Earth. They were picked up by the Cassini spacecraft and then interpreted as sound. But the sound was not in the audible range, so it has been downshifted by a factor of 44. And finally, so as not to bore us to death, it has been speeded up by a factor of 22. Realize, then, that many human choices were made in order for us to be able to “listen to space.” But if you can accept that, you can enjoy this.
Whatever it is, it sounds brilliant. Sew shewgaze.
“It is only right that the Australian Government should do everything it can to preserve the integrity and fairness of this [refugee and humanitarian] programme to ensure that we provide our assistance to the most deserving cases. This means giving preference to those people who apply off shore from the various camps and other settlements around the world, rather than those who seek to take their place by arriving illegally, whether by boat or other means.”—
